How to create asset inspections

Why create asset inspections

Asset inspections involve thorough assessments of physical assets like machinery, buildings, or infrastructure to evaluate their state, functionality, and adherence to regulations or standards.

Take note

  • Only Owners and Admins can create asset inspections. 
  • Assets are linked to categories. A task will be created for each asset in the category
  • Before creating asset inspections, your organization should contain categories with assets within them. For guidance on how to create asset categories and assets. Read the articles on : How to create Asset Categories and How to create Assets 

Create Asset inspections 

Step 1: Log in to the Capptions Direct web portal

Sign in to your Capptions Direct account using the link

Step 2: Select an organization 

Click on the drop-down arrow in the top left-hand corner and select the organization you would like to create a team from

Step 3: Click on Templates 

Step 4: Click Workflows  

Step 5: Create a workflow or edit an existing one.

Step 6: Add the ASSET INPUT  node and connect it to the start of the workflow 

This step will allow you to connect an entire category of assets to the workflow.

6.1 Right-click on the builder to open the node menu

6.2 Select Asset Input 

6.3 Connect the ASSET INPUT node to the START node by drawing a line between the orange dots 

Step 7: Connect the ASSET INPUT node to a FILL A FORM node 

This step will allow for the asset to be visible in the form template. 

7.1 Connect the ASSET INPUT node to the FILL A FORM node by drawing a line between the light blue dots

Step 8: Publish workflow.

On the top right corner of the builder. Click on Publish 

Step 9: Re/assign the workflow to your team

 On the far right of your published workflow, select the  Screenshot 2023-09-25 at 12.52.13  icon and click " Assign to Team." 

Step 10: Assign a Value to the ASSET CATEGORY

After assigning the workflow to a team, it is important to establish a connection between the workflow and the specific asset category for which inspections are to be conducted by that team.

Step 11: Click " Assign Workflow to Team " to initiate changes
