How to import Assets

This article will show you how to import assets

Before we get started

Take note 

• You can import assets via the web portal. 
• Only Admins and owners can import Assets. 
• To input all the necessary asset information in a structured format for easy import, you can download a blank import template from the system. 
• Import of assets is not possible with manual tag creation

Import Assets

Step 1: Sign in to the Capptions Direct web portal

Sign in to your Capptions Direct account using the link

Step 2: Select an organization 

Click on the drop-down arrow in the top left-hand corner and select your organization. 

Step 3: Create an asset template or select an existing one

3.1: Click settings 

3.2 Click Assets 

3.3 Click templates

3.4 Add template name 

3.5  Add custom asset fields

Add the type of information you want to include for each asset, such as serial numbers, colours, model etc. This allows you to customize the asset template to fit your specific needs and easily track important details for each asset within your organization.

3.6 Click Submit.

Step 4: Create an asset category 

4.1 Click categories 

4.2 Click

4.3 Add category name 

4.4 Choose asset template 

4.5 Set Asset tag format 

4.6 Click Submit 

Step 5:  Get import blank 

5.1 Click Assets

5.2 Click the 3 dots icon 

5.4 Click on Get Import blank

Downloading the import blank template will allow you to input all the necessary asset information in a structured format for easy import into the system. This template will ensure that all data is accurately captured and organized before being imported into your organization

5.5 Add all your assets according to the layout provided in the import blank 

Step 6: Import Asets into the organization

6.1 Click the 3 dots icon 

6.2 Click

6.3 Select Asset category 

6.4 Select file 

6.5 Choose the delimiter used in the import 

6.6 Click
