How to Implement a Benchmark Line in Graphs

This article will show you how to implement a Benchmark Line in a graph.

Why Implement a Benchmark line?

A benchmark line in a graph acts as a reference point to compare actual data with a Benchmark or average. It helps highlight performance gaps, trends, and progress, making the graph clearer, more insightful, and easier to interpret for decision-making.

Before We Get Started

Take Note:

  • Adding a Benchmark Line will only make sense if your graph contians numerical data.

  • Benchmark Lines can be applied to bar charts in Capptions Direct.

  • Adding a Benchmark Line does not alter the original data but enhances visualization and interpretation.
